This has to be one of the most popular dishes on the Chinese menu, in the top 15 dishes most ordered, many if you have asked for this as an air fryer version so here it is!

Ingredients:
The Chicken
1 sliced chicken breast
6 heaped tbsp potato starch
1/3 tsp white pepper
1/3 tsp salt
1/3 tsp MSG
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 egg white
Spray oil (optional)
The sauce
1 tsp hoi sin
4 tbsp ketchup
4 heaped tbsp sugar (or sugar alternative, if your using a sweetener go by taste)
3 drops dark soy
10ml quad concentrate orange squash
20ml white vinegar
30ml water
1/4 tsp red food colouring (optional)
1 tsp chilli flakes
1/4 tsp salt
1/3 tsp MSG
3 tbsp rehydrated garlic granules
1 tsp potato starch
Veg
1/2 sliced onion
1/2 sliced red pepper
1/2 sliced yellow pepper
3 - 4 sliced fresh green chillies
Method:
Place 6 heaped tbsp potato starch, 1/3 tsp white pepper, 1/3 tsp salt, 1/3 tsp MSG and 1/2 tsp garlic powder into a baking tray and mix well, make sure the garlic powder is evenly distributed.
Add your sliced chicken to the starch mix and coat.
Remove, making sure to remove any excess starch and place into a bowl, add one egg white and coat well.
Then place back into you starch mix, make sure each stripe is coated in the starch, and give each piece a gentle squeeze to help the batter stay on.
Spray the inside of your air fryer and place your chicken strips in, if there over lap, don't worry they just pull apart later.
When there all in spry with some oil then cook for 10 minutes at 200c.
After 10 minutes if there is an under tray in your cooker, remove it, and then add your veg, spray with some oil and stir in.
Place back into to cook at 200c for another 10 minutes.
Now place 1 tsp hoi sin, 4 tbsp ketchup, 4 heaped tbsp sugar (or sugar alternative, if your using a sweetener go by taste), 3 drops dark soy, 10ml quad concentrate orange squash, 20ml white vinegar, 30ml water, 1/4 tsp red food colouring (optional), 1 tsp chilli flakes, 1/4 tsp salt, 1/3 tsp MSG, 3 tbsp rehydrated garlic granules and 1 tsp potato starch into a microwaveable bowl and ping on high for 30 seconds then stir, repeat until your sauce is thick.
When 10 minutes on the air fryer is up pull out the tray and pour your sauce all over the chicken, and mix in well, garnish with green chillies and its ready to serve.
